Hand Rehab Center

Hand rehabilitation specialists

There are only a few parts of the body that demand such fine motor skills as those in a person’s hands. Delicate and precise movements, combined with flexibility and dexterity make a person’s hands one of the most important parts of the body.

Unfortunately, because we use our hands, wrists and elbows for so many different tasks, it also increases the likelihood that accidents, injuries and other damage can take place in many different of ways, including:

  • Fractures
  • Sprains
  • Tendonitis
  • Arthritis
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Cubital Tunnel Syndrome
  • Tennis elbow
  • Athletic injuries
  • Lacerations and open wounds
  • Traumatic and crush injuries
  • Chronic injuries
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Nerve injuries
  • Joint conditions
  • Post-operative rehabilitation
  • Partial and full amputations
Because every patient and every condition is different, our hand rehabilitation center is very much a personalized experience that starts with a comprehensive analysis aimed at restoring maximum function to the patient’s hands. This includes working to diminish and manage pain, promote healing and reduce the effects of an injury or condition. We work to restore a person’s use of their hands to their optimal functioning status.

Our occupational therapy practitioners use a variety of hand therapy and rehabilitation services to restore mobility and a high degree of functionality for our patients. Some of these include:
  • Range of motion and strengthening exercises
  • Wound and scar management
  • Orthotics
  • Post-operative care and management
  • Edema management
  • Neuromuscular stimulation
  • Splinting and casting
  • Modified activities for daily living
  • Computer ergonomics
  • Occupational therapy treatments designed to get a person back to work as quickly as possible
Our staff works closely with physicians to coordinate a treatment plan based on the goals and desires of our patients. A personalized care program will typically combine several types of therapy and take place over a series of weeks or months until the fullest possible recovery is achieved.
